I'm back!

Hey everyone,

I finish with my program in England and it feel so good to be free. I was having a good time in UK but I’m back again from my long absence, Oh, how I've missed you and this blog. In the time I've been gone, I feel like the fashion world has moved on and left me behind. I have had little to no time to check up on what's been happening but I will do my best to get back on track now.

It's been a while that I didn't update my blogs but i promiss that I'll try to inform you again soon.

Gucci, Louboutin and Marni, Oh My!

We Fein Girls deserve a pat on the back and a Venti-Starbucks on the house, because in the name of Fashions Feinest, we caroused our way all over the city of Miami last night, hitting up all the major events, and mingling with the very best of them. Gucci, Louboutin, Marni-- then uptown to the Vanity Fair party at MOCA, Design Miami, Art Miami, The Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery, and rounding out the night nicely at Club 50 at the Viceroy-- it's enough to make anyone's head spin, but with a jam-packed week filled with some of the world's very best artists and designers, what is a girl to do but put on some red-soled shoes and saunter into the night?

Yes, dear readers, we did it all, and what's more, we did it in heels, and by the time our driver dropped each of us off at our residences early in the morn, we were slightly tired, but happy, and we all made it in today with smiles on our faces, caffeinated beverages in our hands and oversize sunglasses to compliment our outfits.

So yes, we admired the 18-pairs sneakers on display at Gucci Icon-Temporary, which included one pair designed by Mark Ronson, sipped champagne as Louboutin’s dangled from the ceiling overhead, and enjoyed the sounds coming from the custom-made Fendi guitar used by the band OK-GO at Design Miami (which we admiringly noted in yesterday's blog).
But the highlight of the night, was truly the Emmauel Perrotin Gallery Party- where we rubbed shoulders with Pharrell, while a party that would make Studio-54's Steve Rubell proud raged underneath last night's full moon.

It really does seem as if there is a party oozing out every corner across the city this week- and true to Fein Girl fashion, we are going to be providing you with a complete low-down of as many of the events, people, and fashions we see.

So apologies for the slightly shorter blog today, but we have research to do!

Design Miami's Limited Edition Experiences

What makes this first week of December so thrilling for those of us in Miami is that it marks the complete infusion of art, culture, fashion, and design with retail.
Last night was the kick off to Design Miami’s F-Factory at the Moore Building, which included a powerhouse line-up of high-end fashion houses which set up shop to showcase their limited-edition retail projects.
Since we geographically-lucky Fine Girls were there, we are bringing you the highlights from some of our favorites!

Fendi
Fendi is serving as the anchor tenant, and the brand debuted its limited edition design ‘Needle Point Stitch Kit’ created by Silvia Venturini Fendi. Each basic canvas comes with guideline drawings and string – in a variety of color – allowing the consumer to customize and stitch her own bag.

Also on display was one of the six custom-made Gibson guitars Fendi has made in collaboration with Mortiz Waldemeyer, which the band OK GO will be playing daily sets with.

Ps- the Guitars also project lights on the walls when played.

Christopher Ross
Then there was Christopher Ross, whose collection of gold and silver animal belt buckles were all made from the original antique molds owned (and hand signed) by Mr. Ross himself. The buckles were also shown alongside a documentary about his collection of historical art and other collectors pieces from his travels.

Stubbs & Wootton
The ultimate in lux-footwear for ladies that lunch and men of leisure. Founded in 1993 and intended for indoor use, Stubbs & Wootton presented its best collection of slippers...which have become iconic of outdoor use as well.

Duncan Quinn
The name is Quinn. Duncan Quinn. We have an inkling that Mr. Quinn appreciates a white dinner jacket and has a taste for danger because his ready to wear store, with numerious special editions, included a plethora or handmade suits, shirts and ties and more than a few vintage-Aston Martins, a Connery 007-era portrait, and some truly fabulous t-shirts with the Queen printed on them. Needless to say, we had quite the time while we browsed and mingled, with a martinee in hand (shaken not stirred) humming along to the background tunes of The Clash.

ps- the emblems on his ties are all copies of tattoos on Russian inmates.
