I recently received an invite on Facebook to a viewing of my friend Tom's work.
I am so impressed by his work. I remember always thinking at school that he was super talented, and now I see that he's continuing to grow as an artist, which is so exciting to see.
I love the way he uses mixed mediums to create a very real and vibrant effect. I'd love to see other landscapes though, the beach scenes are beautiful but I'd love to see him experiment with other colours.
Perhaps one day I'll be attending the launch of his work at some uppercrust art gallery where the drinks come for free and the snacks are things I can't even pronounce.
I sure hope so.
To see some more of his work (to be updated soon, he's told me) go here.

Get a Nice Tan for Fall
Fake bake we shall not! But we don’t mind donning a different type of tan that is 100% UVA/UVB free and oh so chic for Fall, Camel! Yes it’s back and The Fein Girls are head over heels about every shade of Camel there is for the upcoming season.
The warm neutral variations of our beloved Camel, not only go well with just about anything for the cooler months, but you can sneak some of your favorite neutral summer pieces right into your fall wardrobe too! Try pairing your sack waist, peg leg trouser from Spring with a tailored shirt or chunky knit. And nothing is more elegant than an exquisite accessory made in a delectable, creamy, shade of Camel, which brings us to yet another reason why we love this hue so very much. Camel gives you the freedom to mix…dun, dun, dun….black with brown! The most unthinkable fashion faux pas is thrown right out of the window when black meets neutral. The dynamic duo gives any look an “expensive” vibe, and if you’re anything like us, our secret Forever 21 buys, need all the help they can get!
Most of you have most likely already laid your hands on a tan piece or two from the summer, and no we are not speaking of your Cabana Boy from vacay. But try introducing a classic khaki, rich beige, or rusty tobacco, to warm up your wardrobe as the temperature drops. Let go of the all black uniform that we all tend to hide behind, and incorporate some of these Fall /Winter staple pieces below.

Remember no matter your skin tone, there’s a shade of camel out there for everyone. Hop on the trend that’s sure to stick around and get to showing off your amazing tan!
Xoxo,
The Fein Girls

COVER IT UP:
Camel & neutral tone overcoats are a major hit for this season; there was an array of neutral hues seen on almost every designer’s runway when the fall collections were unveiled.
SUIT YOURSELF:
Hang the black pant suits back up in your closets and take the trend to work with you. Pick up pieces that will take you from day and night. For instance, try a simple high waist pencil skirt, or military inspired blazer paired with a neutral tweed skirt.

Warm and Snug Things
So I know Summer is supposed to be on it's way and all that but it's raining in Cape Town!
So, while I'm sitting at the pc, freezing my keyboard-loving fingers off I'm daydreaming about the snuggest and coolest winter warmers.
This is a poofy yellow jacket I *want*
Also I love these three winter looks...and last, but probably most wanted are these kitten mittens!
Sigh, I wish I'd gone winter shopping before Summer was poking it's nose around the corner...
What do you wish you'd bought this winter?
