A PEACE TREATY: Behind The Threads

A scarf is a simple, classic accessory that many of us adorn ourselves with year round. But did you know that the very piece of woven fabric wrapped so neatly around your neck could have a story of hope, peace and ancient artistry attached? The women of A PEACE TREATY have taken the way we will forever view scarves to a new high.

The brain child of Farah Malik and Dana Arbib, A PEACE TREATY gives us a retrospective of artistry from ancient Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa all combined in a fresh, modern way. Hope is given to skilled artisans in these countries that are plagued with economic strife by providing employment opportunities to showcase their talents to the world. In addition, Malik and Arbib donate to Counterpart International which this year the funds will be directed towards reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan.

Mixed prints, daring colors, unique weaving techniques and a bit of a "pay it forward" mentality, sum up this exquisite collection.
