Hipsters+Art=Thursday Night Success

So we've been going strong since Monday, maybe even Sunday. This is the week that separates the amateurs from the professionals, the dedicated from the indifferent. So how do we feel now that it's Friday and we've been operating on an A-Game level all week long?

We feel great! No complaints here, give any of us a diet coke, some almonds and a new piece of clothing to be excited about and we're ready to go!
So, let's get started with our review of last night's events. Thursday was good. We are at the pinnacle of Art Basel- the good stuff is happening and it's happening in a big way.

We started out by attending a few smaller gallery parties, then we moseyed our way on over to the Gen Art Vanguard Official Party at Aqua Art Miami. The event was completely packed. The line to get in?- Debatably longer than the one outside H&M when Jimmy Choo launched his line.

However, we didn't wait long....or at all, and once inside it was a little bit like a hipsters paradise. The outside area was huge, the inside was even bigger; one gigantic maze of contemporary art, and it was filled with Miami's trendiest.

So we made small talk outside over cocktails and then got a little lost inside amid the many pieces of pop art, sculptures, drawings and paintings. One of our favorites was a big rack of wrought-iron shoe sculptures- being sold at $2,000 each, or if you want to buy the entire thing as Oprah did, a cool $96,000.

After we had our art-fill we went back outside, where several rooftop impromptu performances by individuals in Ray-Bans and skinny jeans took place (like we said, hipsters paradise) and then we bid adieu to Aqua and headed to Max Fish.

Yawn.

Vlada Lounge however, was quite the party. Danny Santiago's Disco Dust lived up to its namesake, and there we danced to old school '80s ghetto beats and chart toppers until we could bare it no longer.

All in all, success. And that was only Thursday.
