Boy Meets Girl...

Whoever it was that said men wear the pants never heard of Annie Hall. Diane Keaton’s iconic look in the film proves it is possible to be feminine, authoritative and fashionable all at the same time. From a bold bowler hat and tie, to creased trousers and oxfords, she showed women how to be sophisticated yet playful while mixing the two worlds of men verses women. Her quirky feminine charm mixed with the staples from a man’s wardrobe demonstrate the ease at which women can be versatile and remain flattering to their body and self.

Today, many woman take inspiration from these looks and add their own spin on how to take menswear to a whole new level. Mixing men's pieces with delicate feminine touches, this trend seems to be alive and well since its start in the ‘70s. The modern day Annie look can be completed by pairing cuffed boyfriend jeans while mixing them with a trendy tailored blouse, vest or blazer. For shoes, anything from boots to oxfords, flats or wedges can give this look the feminine touch it deserves. Pair this overall look with a chic Boho bag and a set of layered necklaces and you’re ready for your close up! Want to know the great thing about this look? Every piece is interchangeable! If you are still loving the Annie look in the summer you can opt for cuffed jean shorts with suspenders (or a pencil skirt), a v-neck tee, a lightweight scarf, a pair of ankle boots and you will still be in character!
