Power Weddings

Every now and again, the nuptials of the famous and powerful capture the world’s attention. This time around, we’re being treated to the union of two American political blue bloods. On July 31st, the wedding of Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky is set to take place at the famed Astor Courts in Rhinebeck, NY.

The wedding of the year between the former first daughter and the investment banker is rumored to run anywhere from $3 - $5 million, with the bride wearing Vera Wang, a reported $250,000 worth of jewelry, and a reception featuring fireworks, a vegan cake and $500,000 worth of flowers.

The 500 name guest list will include Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand and Ted Turner per Chelsea’s “strict no-strangers policy: she must personally know every invitee.”

Wonder if they’ll be paying Papa Bill to play the sax?
