This week we Fein Girls are mad about Jennifer Amenta, the creative force behind jewelry line Jennifer Elizabeth.
Hand-picking each piece of her collection from flea markets, estate sales and antique stores, the 25-year-old FIT graduate is no doubt reaping the benefits from this labor of love because Jennifer Elizabeth has successfully combined vintage and modern pieces into fresh and fashionable couture jewelry; your grandmother’s pearls have never looked better!
With one set goal in her life, this small-town Connecticut girl, traded quiet evenings for bright lights when she moved to New York City in 2007. There she worked as a fashion designer for two years before launching Jennifer Elizabeth in May of 2009 (Fashionistas, you may have admired her creations during New York Fashion Week when she partnered with Karen Sabag Spring 2010 Couture Collection to create accessories for the dresses).
Jennifer Elizabeth not only combines vintage pieces, but its designs are inspired by unconventional trinkets that produce one-of-a-kind jewelry. An example of this -- and our favorite-- is the “Miss Mary-Kate,” a necklace made up of vintage gold chains with black crocheted fringe.
Her intricate use of black and gold makes it right for just about any outfit, chic for either day, or night.
We feel we should warn you....while wearing her jewelry, there is chance of being stopped in the middle of the street by admirers; but who doesn’t love a fan club?
