La-Lohan seems to be missing the point quite a bit lately, no? And by missing the point, I’m including her immortalized line in 2004’s Mean Girls : “Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.”
I’d like to say something about it, Lohan! Halloween is a time for creativity and dressing as a lady of the night is, let’s face it… the easy way out.
But all Lohan-metaphors aside, October 31st is truly the one night of the year when an individual’s personal style can fully erupt.
And I’m not talking about the costumes that are already mapped together nicely; not the ones that can be bought in your nearest Halloween store—(cheaters!)
No, this is the time to go all out, no holds barred: glitter, wigs, chains, and whips.. Okay, maybe not the latter, but you catch my drift.
True fashionistas tend to visualize how they’re going to create their drama-chic masterpiece over a month in advance, making sure that each detail will stand out amongst the rest. So if you’ve been one of the ones who stay a bit modest during Halloween, or tend to stick with the typical Halloween clichĂ© of a witch or a vampire, or (ahem) Playboy Bunny, don’t you think it’s time to kick it up a notch and get inspired?
And ladies, who better to draw inspiration from, than the savvy, trendsetters themselves? – The fashion designers!
So, we did a little digging and found the best of the best! Looking back at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010, these designs will give any store bought costume a run for their money:
Chic Greek – Georges Chakra
Geisha Glam - Leifsdottir
