Trend Alert: Aviator Caps!

I don't know about all of you, but I am one girl that is gaga for aviator frames. A cool classic, with the ability to glam up any outfit, they will--to me at least, forever be in style (we all have our weaknesses).

But other than those spicy frames, I never really explored the other wonders of an aviation wardrobe, which is why I find myself pleasantly surprised by the surfacing trend that is aviator caps.

Now, we urge you all to resist your immediate reaction to reel back with distrust, and breathe. Because, when done right, they are quite cute. And there is true credibility behind them. For the Hermès fall collection, Jean Paul Gaultier accompanied each look with a cap and a pair of goggles, and word on the street is that despite the $840 price tag, they sold out. Same with Alexander Wang, whose leather cap with attached cape did quite well at Opening Ceremony last spring when they had an easy price tag of a cool $1,925.

Of course, if you want to be authentic, you can always go for the real deal and purchase either the handmade sherpa-lined cap at U.S. Wings, or the unlined version, dubbed "Snoopy" for $33.95
