Want it: Sweaters by Jim Drain

Word to the wise: people come and go, relationships may fade, but a well-made sweater lasts forever.

And the latest item to make our little Fein-girl hearts go thump thump are exactly that, made by the talented Jim Drain.

A RISD-grad and 2005 winner of the Baloise Art Prize, has a true knack for knitwear. Drain began using his pal's sewing machine in 1998 upon graduation, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Drain has cited the meditative repetitiveness what he finds most enjoyable in knitting. As well as its end results: hard messages couched in softness; which is the perfect description of his latest items.

After a collaboration with Green Naftali, three Jim Drain sweaters are now being sold exclusively by Opening Ceremony (check the NYC window display) at their New York, Tokyo and L.A. Stores.

Design is limited (1o of each) so if you are having a little SJP "I had to have it" moment going on, hurry up and skidaddle your way on over to www.openingceremony.us

We have to have it!!
